Swivel castors
Manoeuvrable all-rounders - with swivel castors you can make every turn
Because of this mobility, however, the castor is not suitable for long straight rides. For applications requiring good straight travel and also manoeuvrability, it is therefore often combined with fixed castors. The most common arrangement is to mount two swivel castors on one side and two fixed castors on the other. The advantage: This makes the vehicle ideal for moving straight ahead and around bends.Â
For many devices, not only movement but also a safe stance is extremely important. Whether at the point of sale or on mobile scaffolding - castors without a wheel lock or brake can be very dangerous. TENTE has therefore equipped its swivel castors with various locking mechanisms. Fast and reliable protection against rolling away is ensured by our centrally locking systems, for example, which lock or release several castors with only one movement. Another locking mechanism is total locking. In this case, the wheel and swivelling mechanism are locked on a swivel castor. The directional lock, on the other hand, makes moving on straight stretches easier because it only blocks the rotation of the castor. The swivel castor thus becomes a fixed castor at short notice and facilitates handling on straight sections, for example when pushing hospital beds.Â
